Bridesmaid Gift Ideas

As wedding season creeps closer, many brides-to-be have entered the phenomena that I like to call "complete and unadulterated panic". While examining the very long list of things that a wedding requires, the tiny details can often become a bit overwhelming- turning something that would formerly have been fun (hello shoe shopping) into a coma-inducing panic fest.

Even harder than shoe shopping, it seems, is gifting the wedding party. When I arrived on the brink of the "what-do-we-give-these-20-people-who-supported-us-and-gave-us-their-weekend" decision, I couldn't think of a thing. Not a single thing. On the flip side, after the blood flow was magically restored to my brain via a wedding band on my finger, I noted a couple ideas for future generations.

Or you. You are my generation, but you are also the future, so I think it still counts.

Stuff you can give to your bridesmaids:

Pretty Bobby Pins

Pros- Can coordinate and wear on wedding day if you so desire
Cons- Not overly large and impressive, like a pony

Unique Necklace

Pros- Useful post-wedding, if you have any taste in jewelry whatsoever
Cons- Generally, a group of 4 women will not share the same taste in jewelry. Unless its diamonds, but I really don't recommend that.

Get-Ready-Robes

Pros- Its a fancy gift that doesn't have to break the bank
Cons- Being photographed in a robe is on my list of worst nightmares, between the giant marshmallow bunny and going to church naked

Dress

Pros- Takes off some of the financial burden (if your dress choice is oh-so-perfect but a bit on the spendy side)
Cons- Not a formal presentation of actual gift

Shirts

Pros- No one is confused regarding wedding party positions
Cons- Most girls don't ACTUALLY want to always be the bridesmaid and never the bride... so these might not get a lot of sunshine after the big day
